Mostly Regulated Therapy

Holding it Together, One Vagus Nerve at a Time

Welcome

Life’s a hot mess

Feelings crash the party uninvited. Your nervous system throws tantrums you didn’t sign up for. And if you’re a parent trying to decode your neurodivergent kid, an individual battling anxiety, or a couple stuck in the same old arguments — congratulations, you’ve found your people.

I’m Cassandra — therapist, nerd, realist. I mix science-backed goodies like:

🧠 Polyvagal Theory

🤝 Attachment-informed interventions

🌀 Circle of Security

🌿 Somatic practices

…all served without therapist-talk that makes your eyes glaze over.

Mostly Regulated Therapy

…is about cutting through the chaos, keeping it real, and handing you tools that actually work. Sure, we geek out on nervous system regulation because it’s a total game changer for emotions and relationships. But the real deal? Connection — with yourself, your kiddo, your partner, whoever’s running your life’s circus.

Parenting headaches, personal meltdowns, family dramas — bring it all. We’ll map your nervous system’s:

🔵“On”

🟡 “Off”

🚨“Uh-oh”

Healing isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, stumbling forward, and maybe laughing at just how ridiculous this whole human experience thing really is.

Cassandra Buchan

Hi, I’m Cassandra

I’ve been a social worker for nearly 20 years and recently completed a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Winnipeg.

I’ve worked with trauma survivors, parents, 2SLGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent kids, and families — real people navigating the messy, beautiful parts of being human.

My work is practical, neuroscience-informed, and rooted in attachment theory. I help you understand the why behind behaviours and emotions, and how to respond in ways that actually help.

No jargon. No fluff. Just clear, compassionate, and gently honest conversations that lead to meaningful change.

With a background in complex family systems and trauma, I don’t shy away from the hard stuff. Healing isn’t tidy or linear, and you don’t have to be either.

If you’re managing parenting struggles, relationship tension, or your own emotional ups and downs, I offer a space that’s grounding, genuine, and sometimes laced with dry humour — because laughter can be regulation, too.
